Se trata de una banda transportadora formada por piezas conformadas. Los m\u00f3dulos se unen entre s\u00ed mediante pasadores una a estructura entrelazada a modo de cadena de la longitud que se requiera, al igual que las bandas modulares. Esta configuraci\u00f3n posibilita el montaje y reparaci\u00f3n, solucionando cualquier tipo de problema reemplazando \u00fanicamente el m\u00f3dulo o m\u00f3dulos da\u00f1ados en un mismo tiempo. Dada la modularidad de su fabricaci\u00f3n permite la construcci\u00f3n de complicados caminos de transporte, incluso tramos curvos, a partir de s\u00f3lo un peque\u00f1o grupo de piezas. El movimiento de este tipo de transporte se realiza mediante pi\u00f1ones (carretes) de tracci\u00f3n que act\u00faan como engranaje de una cadena con la banda de charnela. En la parte conducida se colocan carretes locos \u00fanicamente para guiar el sentido de la banda. Al igual que otro tipo de bandas, tambi\u00e9n dispone de tensores que prologan la distancia entre ejes y mantienen firme la superficie de la banda, evitando as\u00ed fluctuaciones inesperadas e indeseadas.
